Introducing the YAC Pass, the Young Archaeologists' Club's Passport to the Past!

The Young Archaeologists' Club (YAC) is the only UK-wide Club for children aged 8-16 dedicated to archaeology. With 3,000 UK members and more than 70 local branches, it is one of the fastest growing youth organisations in the UK. The underlying ethos of the Young Archaeologists' Club is for children to learn about the past whilst having fun. Their members come from a diverse range of backgrounds and regions.

YAC are seeking partners to join them in the YAC Pass, a scheme to enable their 3,000+ members to access social history and/or archaeology museums and sites across the UK either free or at a discounted rate. The scheme, previously known as the Discounted Sites Scheme, is also open to museums which are already free to access, but which could offer YAC members discounts in site shops or other benefits.

Being part of the YAC Pass has significant benefits for your museum or site. These include: an increase in visits, direct advertising to our 3,000+ individual YAC members and their families and friends, and association with YAC.

Nationally, Historic Scotland, Cadw Welsh Historic Monuments, English Heritage and the Environment and Heritage Service in Northern Ireland are all involved in the scheme. They also have the support of over 70 independent museums and sites across the UK.

YAC are particularly keen to work with museums and archaeological sites in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, where their provision could be significantly improved with your help!
